2010 Draft
ALL-NAME TEAM

Any diehard fan following a sport since childhood will tell you that "names have magic" - Since Sonny Grandelius roamed the gridiron for the Brooklyn Football Dodgers and WR Louis Lipps and running back I.M. Hipp graced Buchsbaum's and Kiper's draft boards, players' names have carried with them a certain romance and poetry. To select this year's All-Name class, we asked the following question: "If you were writing a novel or screen-play about football, who would you pick for your "cast of characters?" (Conversely, which names would you find it extremely unlikely to make the final cut in any football story)?

(Notes - Yet another year where there were few if any "Bubbas", "Jim Bobs" or "Cody's (though we did find a couple of "Bo's"). But there's more than a hefty share of Rahims and Jaquans. I hope no one will take offense in my "no name" selections - it's not intended to poke fun; but rather to draw a contrast between those who are "name challenged" and those whose, we're guessing, mamas and papas named them with a pro career in mind. No doubt. more than a handful of no-names will enjoy long, productive pro careers).
